Change Dropbox path

Change Dropbox path

Peter VARGA
Explorer | Level 4

I changed the user path from C:\Users\UserA to C:\Users\UserB. Now Dropbox fails to start with C:\Users\UserA not available.

All Google results for changing the path don't work because for this I have to start DropBox but it fails due to the fact C:\Users\UserA doesn't exist anymore.

Please advise how to change the path to C:\Users\UserB

Thx

Perform an advanced reinstall of the Dropbox application.

Thank you! Yes, changing it in the registry solved it.

For other users:

I made this very stupid mistake so I wasn't capable to fix it on the first try:

I opened regedit as Administrator which didn't show the entries for the affected user. In this case there is the exception you must not run it as Administrator.
