Couldn't start Dropbox This is usually because of a permissions error...

I've searched all over the forum, but not found anything that helps me solve this. I have changed nothing on my pc (running on Windows 10 for 2 years) to affect Dropbox - it just started throwing up this error message yesterday. All the file permissions are set properly - I don't understand what changed. I haven't installed any other programmes or moved or renamed any folders. Everything is sitting there waiting for Dropbox to start, but it doesn't 😞

I tried uninstalling to reinstall, but can't uninstall, as I get the same error message! If I try running the installer anyway, nothing happens. I've tried running Dropbox as administrator, but came up with the same error. I'm really frustrated - hopfully someone can help me please! The error tells me to post the following file:

Hello Tim,

 

Can you please go to www.dropbox.com/downloading and let the automatic installer refresh the installation of the app on your computer?

 

If you're still getting the error , please contact our support team so they can investigate what exactly is going on with the Dropbox instance on your device.

Sorry, this didn't help me - I just got an error 2 message that interrupted the install! 😞
