I should have said that I tried the instructions for a permission error at the bottom of the page here:

https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/sync-uploads/stuck-syncing

But they didn't help and I get the same error.

I was confused by the changing the location bit though, so maybe I got that wrong.

My dropbox folder still opens and I can use the items in it, but it doesn't sync to the web and therefore other machines.

Thanks

Hello @wburman63

Welcome to the Dropbox Community and thanks for giving some initial troubleshooting a try.

From here, could you check if there is a third party app hindering the syncing process, like a security app?

You could also temporarily disable your antivirus and make sure that you've configured your firewall to run with Dropbox - one of these might just do the trick.

Let me know if this helps!

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I tried that as best I could, but it didn't help.

I checked Windows Firewall, Avast and MalwareBytes and that didn't help.

I think i am going to have to get someone to come in to fix it, which is a shame as that will cost a fortune and it's probably something really simple that a techy can fix in a minute or two.

:-(
