I really hope someone can help! I use Windows 7; didnt have the time to update to Windows 10 yet. Do you think this may be the reason? I constantly work on Dropbox and it's super important for my work. Also, trying to find a solution, I found pages that were repoting similar problems after updating to Windows 10!

Again, any help would be much much appreciated!

Thank you in advance

Hi @ek-,

Seems somehow you have restricted write access to you Dropbox folder (for the Dropbox application at least). Fix the access permission as a first step.

Hope this gives right direction.

Thank you for your answer! However, I 'm not sure what you mean by fixing the access permission. Could you perhaps explain it? I searched about it and only things like access to shared folders (which I don't have) came up 😞

Hi @ek-; sorry to hear you're having issues upon starting up our desktop app on your computer.

Can you try disabling your antivirus temporarily and try to launch our desktop app anew?

Let us know here and we'll take it from there.

Hi @ek-,

I didn't mean permission on any folder in your online account. Seems my words above was too short. In the citing, I'm referring above, coming from your initial comment, could be seen "mode=0o40555" for your Dropbox folder. This is NOT related to your account, but your local folder (connected to the account)!!! The last 3 fivet show that somehow you (could be while using some third party application - unintentionally) have restricted write access to this folder (i.e. write permissions are Denied). The mode should end in 3 sevenths (for full access)! Use folder's properties and permissions and remove any Deny, for write access, set somewhere.

Hope this adds some clarity.
