Deleted Dropbox from my Macbook, but files are still present. Scared to delete them.

Deleted Dropbox from my Macbook, but files are still present. Scared to delete them.

I deleted dropbox to free up space on my laptop. I noticed the files and folders that the dropbox was linked to are still on my MacBook. These are my bosses files and I'd be distraught if I were to accidentally delete them. My question is even though Dropbox is no longer installed, will deleting the associated files from my MacBook also delete them from dropbox? Screen Shot 2020-08-05 at 6.08.42 PM.png

Hello @tmarie, I hope you're well today!

If you've uninstalled the Dropbox desktop app from your device, then there would no longer be a syncing connection to the Dropbox folder on your computer.

Since that app has been uninstalled, you can go ahead and remove the Dropbox folder on your computer without it affecting the files in the Dropbox account.

If you want to be on the safe side, you can even unlink the computer (if you haven't already) from your security page here.

I hope that helps clarify the matter!
