Spent a lot time on chat and then follow up on email and it’s like Dropbox is giving up on me now
The symbol At top of my Mac screen shows that I have the current version but the only way I am able to open is through that icon, and then it goes into finder which does not allow me to do the editing I need to do

Out of curiosity, what happens when you try to open and edit the files that are in your Dropbox folder?

If you get any error messages, send them our way as a screenshot. 

Also, since you mention that you've been in touch with our team, could you let us know the ticket ID (eg. #1234567)?

Thanks for letting me know the ticket ID, I've made sure to pass your comments along to the member of my team reviewing this for you. 

In the meantime, could you let me know if you continue having this issue if you temporarily close any third party apps, like antivirus and security apps, that could be affecting this?

If you reviewed my extensive chat with dropbox, every option you mentioned was pursued
If it’s true that misery loves company I see there are many messages from others coming out in the last few days in the community with same issue
At this point I am convinced it’s not on my end, but rather on Dropbox software

Hi there @236Lincoln, just dropping in here!

Can you just let me know if the following does the trick?
  1. Make sure that the Dropbox app is running on your computer (showing in the menu bar).
  2. Navigate to the Dropbox folder in your Finder.
  3. Right click one of the files or folders.
  4. Choose "Open in Dropbox".
If you don't see that option there, can you send me a screenshot of the options that you see in the right click menu?

Not getting error messages
The blue app not working is the issue.
In the beginning I couldn’t delete the app and I got an error message but that was because it was open from icon at too right on my MAC
Got that solved
It will not indtall

What I am trying to accomplish is being able to work in file explorer and without the blue app I cannot do that

Have all screenshots but have tried several ways unsuccessfully,  to get those to this reply message  

The option to "Open in Dropbox" on right click is not there

"View on DropBox.com" is.
