Dropbox Not Starting

Hello All,

 

Looking for help with this error I have just started getting... Dropbox refuses to start despite re-installing it. The folder isn't stored on a separate drive, its the default C: drive. 

Here is the error log:

Hi there @QuantumAU

Welcome to the Dropbox Community!

At first, could you confirm for me if you've installed and placed the Dropbox folder on an internal drive?

You can also check out this thread where another user had a similar experience, in case it helps. 

Let me know what you find!

Thanks @Lusil yes it is on the internal C drive. The target for the application is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Client\Dropbox.exe"

I have the exact same problem as QuantumAU.

I keep getting the "Couldn't start Dropbox" error message

and Dropbox won't start

My error log is word for word the same as his apart from the machine id and user name

I would be grateful for help in solving this issue

It should have read as follows

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I had a junction link from my "Documents" folder to the "Dropbox" folder.

I've had it for some time and certainly it worked perfectly until version 83.4.152 was installed last week

However in view of your reply, and after looking at the thread you quoted, I've just removed the link and can now get Dropbox to start and sync although not as well as it used to because I've had to add all the individual folders to the Dropbox folder

Many thanks for your help

PS I will continue to follow this thread so I can see how Quantum AU's problem gets fixed
