Hi, I installed the Desktop app and it keeps creating a desktop.ini file on my desktop. Is there a way to prevent that?

Hi @AmyL; welcome to our Community!

Do you happen to have enabled the hidden files to be shown on your computer by any chance?

Can you send us a screenshot of how it looks like on your end so that we can have a visual too?

Thanks so much, Amy!

We use a Dropbox folder tm import files into a system. The importer checks the older every minute for new files and if the files match import rules the files are imported, if not they are renamed to include _REJECTED at the end of the file's extension. Dropbox creates a desktop.ini file in the folder and the importer is constantly processing and rejecting the file. There is no way to tell the system to ignore files, has anyone ound a way to stop Dropbox from creating a dektop.ini file? I tried a registry edit but it does not work.

Thanks,

R. Padilla

I changed it not to show hidden items so now it isn't visible. Thanks!
