Dropbox app just quits working

Sometimes on my desktop Dropbox just stops working and the icon in the taskbar disappears. I have to restart the computer to restart the desktop app and it takes a long time, sometimes hours for Dropbox to start. The PC is running Windows 7.

Is there anything I can do to correct this?

I am having same problem. Im running win7 as well. The icon disappeared and i have to start program again..

Tried a reinstall of a newer version? www.dropbox.com/install

The reinstallation does not resolve the problem. Please give us a solution.

PLEASE help with this issue!  Reinstalling does NOT fix the disappearing icon and lack of syncing.  I use Dropbox daily for work and it's messing me up.

same... on windows 8.1...
have reinstalled a few times now... not fixing the problem.
i use dropbox continually throughout the day... the workflow interruption when a file that i JUST saved doesn't show up to share with a client via "recent files" on various apps (gmail, asana, basecamp) is a big problem. I lose valuable billable (and just general) time having to stop what i'm doing, go restart dropbox, wait for it to RE-sync, and then remember where the heck i was in my workflow... not super thrilled with that.
