Dropbox app won't open on my desktop for MacOS Mojave

mschilf
Explorer | Level 3

I downloaded the Dropbox app but I can't open it from my desktop nor from my applications folder. I do have the dropbox icon on the top toolbar and I can access that. What can be done to get the actual app to open?

Thanks - Michael

Hi there @mschilf, thanks for reaching out to us on the Community!

If you want to access your files through the desktop app, you'll have to make sure that your Preferences are set to do so. More specifically:

  1. Click on the Dropbox icon in your system tray or menu bar
  2. Select your profile picture or initials in the upper right corner.
  3. Click Preferences…
  4. Go to the dropdown next to Open folders in: and choose Dropbox desktop app.

Let me know if this helps!
