Dropbox auto software update fails - Windows 10

Explorer | Level 3

Error message is:

      Dropbox Installer

Dropbox Update installation failed with error 0xa0430722

Being on software auto update I'm asked to update software every few minutes with above result.

Elsewhere it has been suggested that deinstallation and reinstallation of latest Dropbox version might solve this. Is this true?

Thanks

Ummsalam

Sorry to hear you feel this way @rjzak - note that this error message a Microsoft one coming from your Windows computer and not Dropbox (i.e. our desktop app) itself.

As this is pretty generic, at this point, I'd suggest that you attempt a clean advanced re-install to fix this issue.

Let me know how it goes!

Of course it would in this case @ummsalam - why don't you give it a try and let me know how it goes? If this persists, please provide me with a screenshot of the exact error message you get too.

Thanks!

I also have this error, and haven't figured out how to fix it. I made sure the installer isn't being blocked by the firewall, and I tried the full installer (93MB) and the small installer (680KB). And it's a personal account, and still seems to work. Who was the genius at Dropbox who decided that some stupid hex value was a good error code to show users, instead of describing the issue? Smack that person, terrible user interface decision.
