Hello,

after starting the dropbox installer on windows 7 the message "bei der installation von dropbox-update ist der fehler 0x8004070d aufgetreten" (The error 0x8004070d has occurred during the installation of dropbox-update) pops up. then the installer ends.

I already uninstalled dropbox, and rebootet, but no change.

Best Regards

Hello all,

I fixed this, and I just want to leave the solution here.

After my last post and the dropbox setup problems, additional problems appeared, and the PC didn't boot reliable.

Some times it freeze after login, sometimes not.

I found two possible causes of that:

1. Microsoft Security Essentials (which I deactivated in an previous attempt to install dropbox, but without success) and

2. Ditto, a software that captures the clipboard.

After completely uninstall of this 2 Programs, I was able to install Dropbox, and also the PC is reliable again.

So thanks all for your tips and help.

Best Regards, Martin

Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that you may be running, and try again.
