Dropbox crash on Fedora 24 (Cinammon)

Dropbox crash on Fedora 24 (Cinammon)

Hello,

I'm using dropbox on Fedora with Cinnamon as DE and everything worked fine on Fedora 23 but after the upgrade to Fedora 24, dropboxd daemon crashes with "segmentation fault" and I can't use dropbox any more.

Please note that I'm using the headless installation which is expected to work even on not-supported desktop environments. I've opened a support request but as I'm using Cinammon support won't look at it (not very nice as I stated I'm using the headless installation).

Any help, hint ?

I have the same issue. It dies silently, but using strace I was able to determine that when dropbox is attempting to install itself there's some python program running on background that crashes.

Here's the relevant part of the strace: https://gist.github.com/wyrmiyu/9d07f8089e23c7e3bea4be491d6d59b8

That python script is burried so deep that I only had time to report this as a bug to tech support

From here, this worked for me: add QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=" to dropboxd (in .dropbox-dist). You should add it above the last line.

Hi Hunger,

Could you please explain how to do:

"add QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=" to dropboxd (in .dropbox-dist). You should add it above the last line."

Thanks

All Working now.

Adding : add QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=" to dropboxd (in .dropbox-dist) does the trick!

Many thanks

I have changed cinnamon-session so it no longer sets QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE

http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/cinnamon-session.git/tree/fix_qt_override.patch

Anyone wishing to test the change can get the updated rpm from
