Dropbox directory daemon custom install

Dropbox directory daemon custom install

schnokbul

Hi, I'm installing the dropbox daemon on a debian server.

Until now, everything is ok, except that I want to put the Dropbox folder not in my home directory, but on another folder with more disk space.

I'm unable to find any option or config file where to change it without the graphical app (it's a server, no control except SSH).

Can someone knows how to change this ?

Thanks a lot.

Hello @schnokbul - welcome to our Community and thanks for using Dropbox!

As moving your Dropbox folder with no GUI (on Linux servers) is not supported at the moment, you could create a symlink from your secondary hard disk to your home directory before installing our desktop app; keep in mind that YMMV though.

Or else, I'd suggest looking this up on the internet, probably in a Linux specific forum as you might find a solution that works for you!

I hope this helps to some extent and please keep me posted on your findings!
