I ve been facing this issue for a few months now.
1- A few months back suddenly I couldn't update ropbox anymore
2- So I uninstalled dropbox and tried to reinstall it from the small and big install files => no success
3- I even tried with the community version still no success
What happens is the program starts, I can see it in the task manager but then stops with no error neither any message
My configuration is:
Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack1
Please help as I am paying for this service!!
I am facing the same issues, I noticed the latest version trying to initiate a network connection (99.445 something). Repeatedly, failing to install automatically I assumed.
I downloaded the installer and ran it, error 2.
I downloaded the Offline installer and ran it, error 2.
I uninstalled it. Didn't work.
Did an advanced reinstall.
I've removed Dropbox from %localappdata%, roaming, also temp, killed all dropbox-services, nothing.
Inbetween these I restarted my computer.
I closed my Malware Bytes, I inactivated my windows firewall, I made sure 80, 443, 7600 17603, 17500 TCP were open in my router.
Removed all temporary files in local/roaming/temp etc once again. Removed all registry-links.
Restarted computer, ran latest Offline installer.
So hey, what's going on? I'm an operating IT-technician and I can't get this to work.
Just to see, I installed an old version (77 something) and that worked, but didn't let me login since it was so old.
Figured I could try the previous version but you don't supply that anywhere on your website...
I think the helpful AI-chatbox took a nosedive into depressioncenter too.
Help please 🙂
One quick question, when you say you get error 2.
Where do you see that?
A popup window? or in a log somewhere?
I am an IT guy as well 🙂
You need to do something about our case!
You re putting my business at risk by stopping the service.
Thank you and regards
Of course, here @Raphael69
My OS is in Swedish, but it's essentially:
Installation stumbled upon error 2.
This occurs in both default Installer and OfflineInstaller with all the testing in previous comment.
