Dropbox giving error

Good morning! My dropbox is mistaking and marking an (x) and not update. Can anyone help me?

Hi Isabella! Welcome to our Community 

From what I understand, you must be seeing an 'X' on your desktop app's status as shown within your system tray/manu bar - is this correct?

Could you send me a screenshot of how it looks like on your end so I can have a better view of the matter at hand?

By the way, did you by any chance try to re-install our software on the affected computer before or when this started showing up?
