Dropbox icon becomes faded in few minutes.

Dropbox icon becomes faded after few minutes without showing any error message. If I click on the icon it becomes white, but after little time it is faded again.

Hi @Alberto2, I hope you're well today!

 

Would you mind sending me a screenshot of how the Dropbox icon appears when it's faded? 

 

Also, when you hover over the faded icon can you let me know what version of the app you see there and if the status shows anything there?

 

Let me know what you find!

Thanks for those screenshots @Alberto2!

 

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see when you just hover over the Dropbox icon? Usually the faded icon would suggest that the app isn't connecting correctly with the servers.

 

However, if the app is syncing okay then it could just be due to the app being idle since clicking the icon shows it's "Up to date".

Thanks for the screenshot @Alberto2!

 

It's rather strange indeed, it seems that the desktop app isn't able to connect unless you click on the Dropbox icon. :thinking:

 

Can you just let me know if you have any issues with using Dropbox through your web browser, or do you also have connection issues/errors there too?

 

It may be due to an issue with a firewall, security program, VPN or proxies. Could you let me know if you're running any of these on your computer?

Hi,

I am a professor at Statistical dept. of Padua University.

The computer technician told me that 
``in our network we have a firewall "Fortigate 300D" and the policy for
teacher's pc are:

Accept ALL for any protocols.''


Please tell me how to investigate about the issue.
