Dropbox icon in my menu bar is frozen. Any help?

My drop box icon in the menu bar is frozen I cannot remove it and it wont work if I hover the mouse over it the revolving wheel come on.

I tried reinstalling Dropbox but it makes no different

I tried first aid in Utilities but its still there

I tried turning dropbox off and the back on but its not changing

I am not sure what to do next its very frustrating as I can no longer access that drobox window and cant get rid if it

Hi there @Architettura Viva, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with this!

Since you already tried a few steps, I'd suggest trying an advanced reinstall of the app to see if that does the trick.

This will allow you to do a completely fresh install of the app.

well unfortunately it has made no difference at all.

I contacted the helpline and was chatting with some lovely lady there she suggested to change some commands in the Terminal app and it also made no difference at all. This is incredibly disappointing I run my architectural practice using Dropbox to store my projects and as backup and it just stopped working. I cannot believe an app used by so many can just stop working and no one knows what to do.

At this point I am left with not knowing what all those changes to the Terminal app actually did and no hope for this to be resolved.

I need to work and not spend days fixing backup server systems

Thanks for that @Architettura Viva!

In this case, since the issue persisted after the advance reinstall, I would suggest to continue looking into this via our Support channel, as they have access to device specific info to aid the process.

I've just given my colleague a nudge and they'll be in touch as soon as possible. Cheers Roberto!
