Hi. I'm trying to sync my laptop and desktop. I recently had occasion to unlink my desktop and reinstalled Windoes, leaving the files where they were. However, I now can't seem to resync my files, even though I have tried relaunching the app. It shows activity in my account settings, and as a connected device. I've also tried instaling the full offline article as suggested in the help files. I've also tried accessing Dropbox Chat, but it no longer appears to be inclusively designed as I can navigate it with neither JAWS nor Narrator.
As a first step, could you please ensure that you have tried reinstalling the latest stable version of the desktop app(75.4.141)? Please remember that a beta version can be recognized by a xx.3.xx, instead of the xx.4.xx, so if you’re on a beta build, it means that you have opted in to Early Releases in your online account settings.
Hello Thanks for your prompt response. \Actually, my solution was simpler. I turned on notification of Dropbox (I'm still setting up this PC) and activated the icon in the tray. However, my second comment regarding inclusive design is of greater concern to me now, since I used to be able to access Dropbox chat when using an earlier version of JAWS on my old Windows 7 machine. I can open the chat using Chrome but cannot use it since it does not appear to be inclusively designed. This means that certain groups of people like me who use assistive technology, are not able to use a feature because of its design shortcomings. Such standards, known as WCAG guidelines, ensure that websites and features are designed so that everyone can use them regardless of how they access them (with a mouse, keyboard, specialist screen reading technology or magnification). WCAG has been around for some 20 years or so and it is a shame people like me are still having to have this kind of conversation. Dropbox has been traditioinally known, both for its willingness to help in these matters and for breaking accessibility features in subsequent updates.
