Dropbox is compatible with Ext4 but doesn't recognize ext4 drive?

So, like most Linux users, I've gotten the message about needing to upgrade to an ext4 drive. I had an extra drive in my machine with nothing on it so I formatted it to ext4. I rebooted then went into my prefs to change location and it tells me:

To sync your Dropbox, move your Dropbox folder to a partition with a compatible File System. Dropbox is compatible with Ext4.

So, when is an ext4 drive not an ext4 drive?

SOLVED PROBLEM!!!! Desconozco si es un problema de permisos de Home y de  Dropbox q no reconoce la partición,  el hecho que ya pude hacer que funcionara!!!

1.  Crear una carpeta  en media,  yo cree la carpeta Cloud.

2.  Usar  Chmod y Chown  para darle los permisos  7777 y asignarla a tu usuario.

3. Instalar Dropbox y mover la carpeta de lugar, ahi nos movemos a  /media/Cloud/... y la instalacion creará la carpeta de Dropbox.

PD.   No olviden vincular la cuenta!!!! y  borrar los dispositivos que no usan por que en la version gratis solo acepta 3 dispositivos!!!.

As far as I have read elsewhere, you are correct that Dropbox will not work on an encrypted ext4 partition, which is an absolute deal breaker for me...  What kind of security or lack thereof is Dropbox promoting?  It's bad enough that I've lost the ability to share a Dropbox folder between dual boot Winblows / Linux because they forced out NTFS partitions on Linux...  I am going to have to re-evaluate if Dropbox is even worth it anymore or not...  Been using them for years, but they are alienating their customers...
