Hi, I've been using Dropbox for several years and have never had an issue with it although I'm far from an expert user! I recently replaced my android mobile, installed the Dropbox app and it seemed to be ok. I can see and open any of the files and they are in sync with my other devices. However, if I open a file, edit it and then save it, the default save location is not in Dropbox, it defaults to save it in a documents folder on my phone. If I change the location to Dropbox (the same folder it came from), I get a message that 'that file name already exists'. I've never had this issue before, I've always just edited and saved it as an updated version of the same file.
It seems that I don't have a local Dropbox folder on my Android device and the phone needs to upload/download my dropbox contents each time.
Have deleted and re-installed Dropbox but still the same. Anybody else experienced this issue?
Thanks, Rich

Hi Jane,
Thanks for your reply. It does seem that it is only with office files, eg Word, Excel and PPT but I am using 'Docs to Go' rather than Microsoft Office. If I open a .jpg file, edit it and save it, it will simply overwrite the original location, which is what I want and what it did previously on my previous handset.
Step by Step description is as follows:
Open Dropbox on phone - this correctly shows my folders
Open a folder - correctly shows folder contents
Open file - Shows file in preview mode with Edit symbol at the bottom of screen (same as previously)
Click on edit - Opens file with default app for file type (Docs to Go in this case)
Edit document then select save - this defaults to saving file on phone memory in documents folder
Change save location to original Dropbox location - I receive message 'File name already in use. Please choose a different name.'
Hope this makes some sense to you and thanks very much for your help.
Rich
