Dropbox not launching after reinstall for selective sync

Dropbox not launching after reinstall for selective sync.

I have tried:

No firewall, no virus, online version and offline version.

Dropbox program appears in my program menu but fails to launch.

I have no Dropbox icon in window system tray.

Windows 7 64 bit

Wish i never tried to use selective sync as i am in the middle of a huge deadline and no longer can share files with team.

Hi @Dlay, thanks for joining the Community!

Could try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link to see if the app loads afterwards?

I should also add that it says 'Dropbox 92.4.382 Waiting to be linked to a Dropbox account..."

If I am reading it right do a full uninstall of Dropbox then reinstall?

Please confirm that this will not result in files being removed from my hard drive? Probably a dumb question.

Also, if i fully remove the program, when i reinstall am i going to have to re-sync / upload all my files on my harddrive or dropbox online will have copies?

Please advise!

Essentially, yes, the article also provides more detailed steps on other things to keep in mind when uninstalling.

It won’t affect the files in your Dropbox folder. It will need to re-index the files in your account, which can take a little time, however, if the app isn’t working as it should, this should resolve the majority of issues.
