Dropbox not opening on Mac Snow Leopard after latest update (July 2015)

I now about the discontinued support for Tiger and Leopard, but Snow Leopard should be fine. After doing the latest update to dropbox, the app just won't open/launch on my system (Snow Leopard). Is there anything the users should know about this?

Hi Santiago

What error message do you get? Was it working and suddenly stopped or this was on a newer version of the desktop client? In any case, I'd recommend getting the latest stable version of the desktop client here

Hi Ed,

I didn't get any error messages. The app just doesn't open. The small icon in the menu bar is not there, and my Dropbox folder and files are not in sync. It was probably working as usual 2-3 days ago. I'll try reinstalling the latest stable version and I'll report back.

FYI.. I had to uninstall and delete Dropbox from my MacBook and then reinstall using Dropbox version 2.10.52 from <link removed by forum moderator>

Now all the files are updated and my folder is sync'd.

Hi, the question is:

if you reinstaled older version of drobox (2.10.52) how you prevent of updating ?

The qestion is: how you are able to prevent dropbox update.

Can you help me signed in to my dropbox on my osx 10.6.8. Tried sign out click on my name nothing happening. Click on photos nothing happens.

Mac OSX 10.6.8 DropBox 3.10.1.

The files are all in my DB folder.

The website partially launches and freezes. No files showing. Ad for DropBox Pro across top which won't close. I already have Pro and am using 45 GB of the 1TB

I tried reinstalling. Nothing.

Repaired permissions. Nothing.

This has been going on a few weeks.

I have an identical problem to Santiago S.  I have a Mac 3.2 Intel core i3 running Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.4

I have a monthly DB account of £7.99 mth and it has just stopped working and the top icon has disappeared. I downloaded the latest DB 3.12.6... still no joy.

All the forums say it would work under snow leopard?

Help?

I can still access my files through the web page.
