I had dropbox installed and synchronised in 3 systems. Suddenly, in a Ubuntu 18.04 system , it stopped working.
$ dropbox status: Dropbox isn't running
$ dropbox start: Bunchof messages. Then Dropbox isn't running.
I trying removing it from my signed-in devices and reinstalling it again. Still no luck.
Hi @Soumak, thanks for posting on the Community!
Could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link to see if this helps?
Let me know how it goes!

Hi,
Thanks, @Jay for you reply. I tried the given steps.
However, the following step does not show any result:
cd ~ && wget -O - "https://www.dropbox.com/download?plat=lnx.x86_64" | tar xzf - ~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd
The installation finished without any prompt. When I checked:
$ dropbox status Command 'dropbox' not found, but can be installed with: sudo apt install nautilus-dropbox
I followed these steps. Still, Dropbox isn't running.
$ dropbox status Dropbox isn't running!
It sounds like when you run the dropbox start command, it simply isn’t running for some reason.
Could you post the log of what is stated when you run it to see if there’s any specific issue which we can look into? Thanks!
