Dropbox not showing on iPad in files app and gmail app

I have downloaded the Dropbox app but Dropbox is not showing in either the Files app or in the Gmail app when I click attachments.  I am running iPad OD 14.7 and am up to date on the Dropbox and Gmail apps.

Hi @Jon16, thanks for posting on the Community!

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the app, rebooting the device, and re-installing it to see if this helps?

Keep me updated with any progress!

Thanks Jay.  I did this and it didn’t work.  Dropbox still does not appear in the Files app or Gmail app

Have you enabled Dropbox in the Locations in the iOS Files app?

No.  I tried to do this but I couldn’t find a way to do it.

The Dropbox website says this is how you do it:

“You can use the Files app to browse files stored on your device and in your Dropbox account all in one place. To do so, you must have the Dropbox iOS app installed on your device.

To access your Dropbox account in the Files app:

  1. Open the Files app.
  2. Under Locations, you’ll see your Dropbox folder.
  3. Tap your Dropbox folder.”

The problem is that when I go to Locations, I don’t see the Dropbox folder.  Any help is much appreciated.

Could you attach a screenshot showing the iOS Files Locations tab when you press 'Edit', and another screenshot showing the Dropbox app running on your device?

Hi Jay - After sending the previous screenshot I realized I hadn’t pressed edit as you had asked. I couldn’t find an edit button but I press the three dots in the upper left and got an option to edit sidebar. I selected that and got a list of all of my file services. I enabled all of them including dropbox. Here is the new locations Screenshot.

Hi Jay - After enabling Dropbox in the files app, I deleted the Dropbox app and downloaded a new copy.  Here is the latest screenshot:

I am not sure if this is the view you wanted to see; just let me know if it is not and I will send a new one.

I also deleted the Gmail app and downloaded a new copy, but Dropbox still does not appear in the list of file services for attachments.  Here is a screenshot:

Thanks for your help!  We have solved the Files App issue and hopefully can figure out the Gmail issue.  Jon
