Dropbox not syncing, shows "Starting", and prompts to "Restart Dropbox"

so painful ...

I am on Win 10. Installed the latest Dropbox version. Asked for Selective Sync (since I have tons of files). Did that. For the first little bit it appeared to have downloaded folders and files (didn't check thoroughly). But now, when I change a file on a different machine, it shows "Starting" in the tray & after a couple of clicks on it, prompts me ... "Dropbox shut down unexpectedly, restart or close".

any thoughts?

Hello @marauf, I hope you're well today!

As a first step, I'd suggest just doing a basic re-install of the desktop app. You'll just need to uninstall, and then download and install the latest version from here.

If the app is still crashing after this, could you let me know if there is a blue hyperlink in the error message box?

If there is, can you click this and then paste the full error log in a reply here for me?

Let me know how it goes - thanks!
