I suspected Dropbox wasn't working on the Win 10 laptop
It was sitting showing "Starting"
Couldn't sign in or anything
After a few tries, I uninstalled, downloaded latest version and reinstalled - same thing
When I went to the Dropbox menu and tried any option, the Windows Taskbar disappeared
Had to sign out and in again
Dead in the water right now
Can't access files and work on them
"Last straw"??
Oh it also said the Computer is offline, but it isn't!

I use AVG
Have done for years so it's not new
No other recent installs
Dropbox was white-listed in the firewall
I also disabled AVG for a while as part of my tests
Made no difference
Currently I have no idea what version of files are actually stored, and I can't access them very easily
Not 'user-friendly'!

Proxy is set to No proxy
Reset the router
Still says "Starting"
It has lost the account details as well and I can't modify them either
Dead in the water!
Hi mconnolly,
I had a similar issue with dropbox immediately after applying KB5006670 on Windows 10 version 2004
If Windows Updates were recently applied (view update history) , the Microsoft published doc below could fix your issue:
Registry Key:
1, Open a Command Prompt window (cmd.exe) with elevated permissions.
2, Type the following command depending on which Windows version you are using and then
press Enter.Windows Sever 2022:reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FeatureManagement\Overrides /v 2801335948 /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Windows 10, version 2004, Windows 10, version 20H2 and Windows 10, version
21H1:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft
\FeatureManagement\Overrides /v 2767781516 /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Windows 10, version 1909:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft
\FeatureManagement\Overrides /v 928713355 /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Windows 10, version 1809, Windows Server 2019:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft
\FeatureManagement\Overrides /v 2371422858 /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
3, All version of Windows require a restart of the device for the registry key to take effect.
Before restarting Windows 10, version 1909, Windows 10, version 1809 and Windows Server
