Dropbox rule removed from Windows firewall after each update

Dropbox rule removed from Windows firewall after each update

Hello.
I have windows firewall configured to block every in/out connection except those allowed in the rules.

But on each Dropbox/Windows update, the outgoing rule for Dropbox is removed from the windows firewall (I presume by the updater).

Obviously the computer is no longer synchronized until the rule is manually added again.

This happens in my home and in my work computer  both with Windows 10 x64.

Is there a way to prevent this behavior?

Thank you.

PS. I have practically cloned a previous post at this forum, because my problem is exactly the same: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Installs-integrations/Windows-firewall-rule-removed-after-each-updat.... Although this previous post appears as solved, the actual solution is not published!

Hi there @Huaca2,

Hmm. Could it be that your firewall has set to have high sensitivity, which means that any update to any program would have to re-authorized?

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Lusil,

As a matter of fact, I don't know of any "High sensivity" setting in Windows firewall. In any case, the problem only happens with the Dropbox rule, so it seems to be an specific issue with this program (that is to say, not a problem with a general setting that would affect to any updating program).
