Dropbox segmentation fault

Still getting a segmenttion fault on running dropboxd on all suggested install methods found.

Any suggestions on the issue??

Initially, I wanted to mention that there was a similar thread, although it refers to Mac OS.

Moving on to your concern though, you mention that you’re running a Linux system, but please bare in mind that, currently, these systems are supported. 

However, have you given the headless installation via command line a shot too?

Many thx for your response! I did try that method also.. No luck. I also tried the beta version; no luck either. I have this problem some time now. Sometimes waiting a while and running all the updates for my system helps solving the underlying problem, but thats not the case. So this brings me to the assumption that the problem is really dropbox related. Hope that someone finds a solution soon. Although I can sync manually via the website of course.

Hi @gompie-nr3. Please bare in mind that although a variety of environments are supported to run the Dropbox desktop app, some do not fall under this category at this point in time. You should be able to work via the website though nonetheless, as you mention. 

However, I understand that this is important to you, and so I’ve make sure to pass your comments along to the dev team for future consideration.

As already mentioned, the OS that you’re operating in is not currently supported. You can find more info on which operating systems are required to run the Dropbox desktop app here. However, I have passed on your comments to the dev team for future consideration.
