Dropbox tries to link to a another user's personal account

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

I had my personal account linked on Dropbox. I unlinked it to link to a company account, and when I tried to link back my personal account, another person's account (a friend's) shows up in a grey box, and it won't let me put in my own account (due to the grey box).

The problem is now I can't have my personal files on my computer, and those matter to me a whole lot more than the company files.

I even got my friend's password, unlinked my computer from his account, restarted my computer, and still his account shows up in the grey box. I can't even try logging in with Google as it tries to login to my friend's account. I'm baffled by the fact that my friend's account is there as I even surfed the registry and it didn't show there, and it didn't show up either in Chrome's saved passwords.

Hi egmaq,

Hope this finds you well.

As a first step, can you try re-installing the application?

Also, try clearing your browser's cache and saved passwords as it may have saved your friend's credentials and automatically directs you there.

Let me know of the outcome! Thanks!
