If I click “update”, then it goes to “https://www.dropbox.com/downloading?from_client=True”, then the Dropbox installer DropboxInstaller.exe is automatically downloaded.

So far so good.

But when I double click DropboxInstaller.exe, it simply does nothing.

So because Dropbox was not updated, the annoying message keeps coming up.

Oh, exactly as I thought; the usual culprit :scream_cat:

Worry not though for this is fairly easy to fix :tools:

First, navigate to the "Boxifier" settings, un-check the box next to "Block Dropbox updates" and apply the change.

Then, restart your computer and try replicating the issue again.

You'll see that it's gone :wink:

Hi @Socurious - how are you today?

Could you try the direct link to our offline installer of the latest, stable build of the desktop app and let me know if you get the same results?

https://www.dropbox.com/downloading?build=83.4.152&plat=win&type=full 

If the issue persists, I'll have to ask: are you by any chance using an app called 'Boxifier'? 

Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there!

Oh Yes I am using Boxifier. Is that a problem? I thought this was a great app. It lets me so easily use dropbox for my external drive. I don't want to give it up. What should I do?

Thank you! Now I can install the updates. However, is there any reason why Boxifier had that option of disabling Dropbox update? Does Dropbox update cause any problem for Boxifier's existing indexing?

None that I know of @Socurious. Yet again, I'm not really familiar with this app so you might want to check with them too.
