Hello, I am getting this error message upon trying to start dropbox on a users computer. The user's username changed and the dropbox installation is pointing to the old username. Dropbox was not installed previous to the username change. This is on a Windows 10 Computer. Any help is appreciated.

In that case, you may need to perform a clean, advanced re-install @mfinn.

Hey @kanderson, I hope you're well today!

I would suggest trying to reinstall the desktop app to see if that does the trick. You can check out the steps to uninstall the app from here.

Let me know if that does the trick!

@Daphne Unfortunately, I have done that more than once in trying to resolve this issue and it has not fixed the issue.

I forgot to mention for some reason my username was taken yesterday and I was forced to change it. As stated in my other reply, Reinstalling the program did not fix the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Walter,

That did it first try. I just assumed that the uninstall removed all of that information.

Thank you for your help!

I change my windows profile folder name from cscot to cscott and dropbox does not start anymore.  Here is the dropbox_error file content, any help?  I imagine I will have to change something in the registry ...
