Hi,

Dropbox client works reliably, but crashes at random times. Machine is stable otherwise.

OS: Fedora29

Journalctl | grep dropbox:

Hey Stefan (@brauns), let’s check what could be triggering this message together!

For starters, can you clarify if you’re using the Linux Command Line Interface to control our application? If so, (& just in case you have a little spare time) would you mind checking for the:

dropbox status

& let me know of your findings here? From there, I’d suggest removing our app from your repository & starting anew. Alternatively, you may try uninstalling referencing the steps outlined here & see if that makes a difference (i.e. that’s because you’ve mentioned that it works as it should, however your system has been logging crashes on your end)

I’m wondering if there has been a significant change on your setup that could have impacted the Dropbox performance. Could you elaborate a bit on that your system specifications, in order to further advise?

Once I have this info, I’ll try to address your initial inquiry in a bit more depth. Thanks in advance for the time you’re devoting in working on that with me Stefan!

Hi,

the error appears both when using gui and cli. Once dropbox crashed, this is the output of dropbox status:

Dropbox isn't running!

I have installed Dropbox from the RPM. I have recently switched from Ubuntu 16.04 (dropbox without crashes for over18 months) to Fedora 29 (dropbox crashes).
