Files continue to sync into Dropbox

Files continue to sync into Dropbox

Greetings, I have only been using Dropbox to hold travel docs and health records so we have them available on travel. I recently bought a new laptop and tried to use it to copy files and pictures from my iMac desk to the new iMac pro. During the transfer, I reached capacity and since I had already got what I needed I tried to delete some of the folders like pictures and music.  Once I delete them they reappear and limit the storage capacity. I need some help!  All I want to do is manual copy a file to Dropbox when needed..NO MORE automatic syncing.  I reach out to you folks so you can help me out.  I'm getting old and am not so savvy when it comes to these things.

Hi @Nated0gg, Happy Friday, I hope you're doing well!

Is it possible that you've accidentally enabled our Computer backup feature?

It sounds like you might have. Can you check on your end and let me know?

By the way, if this is the case, here are the steps to disable it.

Please keep me updated!

Thank you for your response Megan. I do appreciate it.  I started working on it but will have to leave for a bit. Right now I am trying to remove  a couple of folders in Dropbox that have no files in them but are artifacts from the backup or syncing problem.
