High CPU usage even when syncing is paused. No symlinks either.

High CPU usage even when syncing is paused. No symlinks either.

I'm using Dropobox v59.4.93 on Mac OS 10.13.6.

For the past few days Dropbox CPU usage has been about 50-60%. Things I have tried:

* Reinstalling the app

* Pausing syncing. I've had it paused for the past 30 minutes and CPU usage is still 50%.

* Checking for symlinks. (I ran `find . -type l -exec ls -lah {} \;` in both my Personal Dropbox folder and my Work Dropbox folder and no symlinks were found.

One potential clue is I use Dropbox Paper at work.

As a first step, I’d recommend checking out this article for more info and suggestions on how to tackle this.

Additionally to that, @Gabor S.1, you mention:

“I have same issue width 60.30.89”

Could it be that you’re using the beta version of the desktop app. Have you tried the latest stable version (59.4.93) and see if that does the trick?

Let me know how it goes and I’ll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible. Cheers!

thx Lusil,

in my case the problem was temporary. The high CPU usage disappeared.

I am using 68.4.102 on mojave and my CPU will spike to 100% occasionally (3 to 4 times a day) for a couple of minutes, this happens even if I have syncing paused.
