How to stop Dropbox from opening automatically at login?

Apologies if this question is posted in the wrong subject area. I could not find a more appropriate category.

Every time I open Dropbox, it adds itself to the list of apps that open automatically when I log into my computer's user account. Is there a way to change this behavior? I don't want Dropbox to be running all the time, and I don't want it to open automatically every time I log in to my user account. Is there a way to tell Dropbox NOT to keep re-adding itself to my list of login items?

Hi @omalansky, I hope you're having a good day so far!

Can you let me know if you've disabled the option within the desktop app to not start the app on system startup too? You can find this option by:

1. Click the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar.
2. Click the profile pic/initials icon in the top right of the window.
3. Choose "Preferences..."
4. Go to the "General" tab
5. At the top, uncheck the option to start the app on system startup
