I can't see the Dropbox icon when I start up my computer, any help?

Every time I boot my computer, the Dropbox icon is gone. I have to download Dropbox, and it synchronises properly, but as soon as I turn off the computer, it's gone again. What can I do?

Thank you for your help

Hey there @sterni0104,

It seems like you don’t have the app set to start on system start up, so when you start your device you would need to manually launch the app (Mac - from Applications menu, Windows - open start menu and search “Dropbox”).

If you want to have Dropbox start on system start up then please:

  1. Click the Dropbox icon in your menu bar/system tray.
  2. Click the profile pic/initials in the top right of the window.
  3. Go to the General tab and check the relevant option.

Let me know if this helps - Cheers!

Hi sterni0104, you could add a shortcut dropbox icon to your desktop, that way it's always visible and more accessible than on a toolbar (that can be hidden). To do this it depends on your operating system, but as a rough guide, go to your computer programs and when you see the dropbox program, just right click your mouse and it will give you the option to create a shortcut, and then it will be added to your desktop. Hope that helps, cheers Jodie
