I want to install the dropbox app on my desktop, but I keep getting the message: No connection. Your computer is currently offline. This message pops up every time I turn on the PC. I clearly do have connection.

Could you try the steps in this article to see if they help with connecting to the Dropbox servers. Although this is for secure connections, it should still apply in your case.
Let me know how it goes!
