I have an issue reinstalling the desktop app after repairing my laptop

Hi all,

I have uninstalled and deleted my dropbox folder before sending my Laptop for some repair services on its CPU. Few days later, I received my repaired laptop with the same windows 10. I tried to install the dropbox back. I downloaded the latest dropbox installer called “Dropbox 99.4.501 Offline Installer”. After initial installation the famous dropbox icon appeared on my taskbar. So far so good. But, when I click on “click here to sign in and get started” in the dropbox icon, this message appears: “Something went wrong… Try again or check out our Help Center.” I did the following but none of them worked:

  • Pausing the windows firewall.
  • Looked for remaining dropbox files and folder from previous installation. But nothing was in my program file and C drive.
  • Uninstall the dropbox, restart my PC, download the installer and do everything all over again.

Please help me out.

Hello @Amir Norouzy, thanks for reaching out to us and for the initial troubleshooting - awesome work by the way!

 

Could you also check if you're on a Basic account by going to your Plan tab and, if you are, make sure that you have two or less devices connected on your Security tab
