I am installing Dropbox in my home directory on an ext4 formatted hard drive under Ubuntu Linux 18.04 with the Mate desktop. I get the following error message: "Your Dropbox folder is on a file system that is no longer supported." the response to "cat /etc/fstab" is the following:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).

Jane,
I answered my email and I answered here. I'm not sure which I should have done. I hope this is right.
Thanks,
Greg

Quick update to anyone who has reached this thread hitting the same error, as the issue in question was caused by /home/drive running Ecryptfs.
To fix the issue, all you have to do would be moving the Dropbox directory outside cryptfs /home/$USER.
Cheers!
