I'm having some trouble with my Dropbox desktop app and Windows 10 in my device

Explorer | Level 3

Hello - I have just switched to a Microsoft Surface Pro with Windows 10.  I am having to challenges with Dropbox:

 

1: the size of the synch is much larger than on my second (Dell Latitude) laptop, despite being the exact same account.

 

2: Windows Explorer freezes when I try to open or access any of my Dropbox files through the desiktop app.

 

I have tried unlinking the Surface Pro, uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app, but with no luck.

 

I have used Dropbox for years with no issues and this is very problematic.

Sorry to hear that @vkt - what does the app state if you mouse over it? If you're fully synced, it should report "Up to date" - if you're not seeing this message, can you tell me what you see?
