I'm unable to see some photo editing apps on my exporting options. What should I do?

Explorer | Level 3

Hello,

I have several different photo apps that I use depending on my need. I am running on Mac/iPhone/IPad. When I try to export my dropbox photo I am only seeing 2 of them. How can I connect the others? Does Dropbox only support certian Photo Apps? Is there a list somewhere? Thanks.

Hey @Davespics, while you can have a look here for the officially supported integrations, kindly note that it’s possible that you can’t locate the apps you’re looking for because these haven’t set up an integration with Dropbox. Could this be happening by any chance Dave?

If it’s not too much trouble for you, could you clarify which apps you can’t see on your exporting options, so as to have a second look on my resources for you? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the reply. I have doone some additional investigating as well. I don't think I need a "supported integration" but rather the ability to open files in apps I choose. I think this might be an Apple IOS issue.

For example, I can open a dropbox file in the App "Snapseed" but for some reason I can't open that file in the App "Fotor". I have to download the file to my mac then open the App then load the file then save the file to my mac then import the file back to Dropbox.

I am trying to figure out the right workflow using dropbox as my photo managment system rather than just my photo backup system.

Thank you again.

Thanks for clarifying that now @Davespics; it would be worth noting that the options will vary, depending on the exact steps you’re following each time to edit you photos. In other words, if you’re working with either of the applications you mentioned above on your Mac, you should be able to open & edit the files you’ve stored in Dropbox if the app in question has an active integration thus allowing that importing from Dropbox.

Alternatively, you should be able to explore some of your options when you’re viewing your files through in Finder, where your can choose to “Open with” & see if the app you’re looking for is listed there.

Nonetheless, I’m sure other Community members will benefit on your findings, so it would be greatly appreciated if you could let us know if you manage to find something that suits you needs; please let us know here whenever you get a chance. Thanks again Dave!
