Guys you gotta make the drobox sistem more stable fore users that keep their dropbox folder on external drives!
Just yesterday I've got 1.5TB of files deleted from my main workstation becouse the hard drive where my dropbox folder is (in a secoundarry workstation) was ejected by some reson.
I can't belive it would be that hard to set the thing up (or at least, guive the user the option to) pause the syncing automaticly if the drobox folder is missing. Istead, the aplication assumes that i just deleted all my files!
Thanks to the amazing "Deleted files" page, I was able to recover it all (so thanks for that), but I'm now gonna have to wait for days to get all my files back in my main workstation.
If some solution in that direction were developed, I'm sure the sistem woud be way easyer and stable.
(Also, any other sugestion that may help in mthis workflow is widly apreciated.)
I hope my criticism is constructive and that I'm not writign any major syliness.
Thanks a lot.
Dropbox technically dont, and never have, supported external drives - in fact until recently they wouldnt allow you to move your folders to an external drive for exactly this reason.
Personally (note I dont work for them) I cannot see this changing. In fact I could imagine them clamping down on it more and looking at ways of stopping people doing it same as they've done with the symlinks thing.

Although I (with all respect) desperately hope your wrong, it makes all the sense...
My point was just that (of course, from a uninformed perspective) it seams a easy problem to solve!
If the App cant find the folder, it must mean tha theres something wrong! And then if the user for some reason realy wants to delete it all, he/she must do it through the browser - where I assume chances of making it by accident are smaller...
But I don't mean to waist anybody's time in the forum if it's a stupid suggestion. And anyway, thanks a lot for taking your time to answer!
