Install dropbox on Ubuntu shared server

Install dropbox on Ubuntu shared server

I am using a server where I dont have sudo access.
So the only solution I have found is the one suggested on this page:
https://www.dropbox.com/install-linux

I followed the instructions to download and run the daemon and everything went well until the moment I linked my account  with success. After that I got this message:

[ALERT]: So your files continue to sync, sign in to your Dropbox account and move Dropbox to a supported file system.

These are the specs of the current server:

Architecture:          x86_64
CPU op-mode(s):        32-bit, 64-bit
Byte Order:            Little Endian
CPU(s):                0
Vendor ID:             AuthenticAMD
CPU family:            16
Model:                 8
Stepping:              0
CPU MHz:               2194.340
BogoMIPS:              4389.00
Virtualization:        AMD-V

Filesystem     Type  Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sdb1      xfs   3.6T  2.6T  1.1T     71% /

As I could see in this page https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/system-requirements
my server fits all requirements to install Dropbox, so I don't understand why I am getting that ALERT message.

I checked my Dropbox folder created inside of my user /home/user/Dropbox and it was empty.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @samuray500,

To be sure what's going on, what's the result from:

df -T ~/Dropbox

🤔 Check again for the system requirements.

Additional clarity could add:

cat ~/.dropbox/info.json; echo

Here it goes

[user]$ df -T ~/Dropbox
Filesystem Type 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sdb1 xfs 3820877824 2689584432 1131293392 71% /

[user]$ cat ~/.dropbox/info.json; echo
{"business": {"path": "/home/user/Dropbox (Company)", "host": 66639463231, "is_team": true, "subscription_type": "Business"}}

Ah.. Well. Seems something more deep, probably Dropbox bug.

Submit a help request (in a incognito window) and post the request number here so someone Dropboxer could escalate your request priority.

Good luck.
