Installation hangs, black screen when restarting PC

Fresh reinstallation of windows 10 pro, previously Dropbox worked just fine. I start the setup, it downloads the app and just hangs on loading indefinitely. Then I tried to restart PC, it won't login to my acc - just black screen but I see the mouse cursor and can open menu with ctrl-alt-del to sign out. I could go into another account on this PC without problem. Registry clean with CCleaner and suddenly I can go back into my acc. I gave up after few tries.

 

After a couple of days I try again, this time the setup went perfectly, my account works. Problem is that now I can't login into other account with the same simptoms.  Uninstalling dropbox, ccleaner - problem solved.

 

Only thing that is different than previous installation is that I installed Python.

 

Any ideas?

Hi there, are you using a remote session or virtual machine to access the computer?
 
If you got a black screen when signing into the desktop app, it’s due to the fact it runs a browser window inside the app for the sign in, which remote desktop sessions can’t render correctly.
 
If this isn’t the case, did you download the installer from our site directly? If you reinstalled Windows 10, then it’s possible that old settings for Dropbox were still on your machine.
 
An advanced reinstall would have removed any settings from the system.

Thanks for reply. No, it was all installed locally, and it was downloaded directly through your site. It's a mistery. If I decide to give it another go I'll make sure to record it.
