Mac: Excel spreadsheets open maximized

Mac: Excel spreadsheets open maximized

CZS
Explorer | Level 3

Since installing Dropbox on my new iMac, every Excel spreadsheet which is saved from my Windows computer, opens maximized on my iMac. For example, if I create and save a new spreadsheet on my Windows computer and save it to the Dropbox folder, when I open that same file on the iMac, it opens maximized. If I then resize the window and save the file from the iMac, it will open in the same size it was saved until I open it again from the Windows computer. This back and forth is a nightmare and I can say with absolute certainty that my previous MBP (running the same version of Excel/Office 365) did NOT do this. Please help....

Hi there, could you try exiting the Dropbox desktop application completely and then trying to open Excel files from within the Dropbox folder?

Does the issue persist still? What about when opening files from outside the Dropbox folder?

Window sizes aren’t considered to be a part of the file when it is saved. Instead, this is more to do with the default program settings on that machine. Could you check and amend the full screen options on Excel on your Mac to see if this helps?

Jay,

Through saving the files multiple times on each machine, it appears the issue has resolved.  I have aboslutely no explaination for it, but (for now) windows are retaining their saved size.   I appriciate your help and will follow up if the issue comes up again.
