Mac user - transferred everything to a new iMac, can't open Dropbox - Permissions Error dialog

I am a Mac user that uses Dropbox on both Mac and PC. I recently transferred everything off of an old iMac to a new iMac, and now I can't open Dropbox on the new iMac. I get a dialog box suggesting it might be a permissions error, with a link that provides the following info. Any suggestions?

Hi @GaryL; welcome to the Community!

I'm sorry to hear about this and I'll try to help.

As a first step, can you please disable any security program you might have running on the affected computer (temporarily) and try re-installing our application?

If you're on the free, Basic plan, please make sure that you're under your account's device limit so the installation process can be completed normally.

Keep me posted on your results Gary!

Sorry for my delay, but with everything happening with the Corona Virus, I hadn't been able to get back to this problem until today. I made sure any protection software was off and tried reinstalling, but no success. I am on the free basic plan, and was over the device limit, which I have since narrowed to the required three, but still no success. Here is further detail on what pops up after an attempt to open the application:

Thanks for getting back to me Gary!

So, this is going to be your 3rd device and not the 4th, right?

If you've ensured that this is the 3rd one indeed and won't put you over your account's limit, I'd suggest a clean, advanced reinstall at this point.

Keep me posted when you get the chance!
