my work got a business account and I chose to merge my account with it and keep my personal files in a separate account. When I did that it unlinked my desktop app in windows from my account and refunded me some money from my personal account. Now when I try to sync with the desktop app it says "Updating Dropbox Account..." and in Preferences under Account it says "This computer isn't linked to an account" but also doesn't have anywhere to log in or link. Any suggestions?
As a first step I would recommend force quitting all Dropbox processes from your Task manager/Activity monitor. Then, relaunch the desktop app on your device(Windows - search system for“Dropbox app”, Mac - from the Applications menu).
Once the app opens, you'll be prompted to sign into your account. If you only want one syncing to the desktop then sign in with this account. Should you want both accounts to sync to the desktop then you can sign in with either account first.
