Moving the Dropbox AppData folder to another local drive

Hello all,

I would like to clear space from my C: drive by moving the Dropbox AppData folder to another local drive, Is this possible and how is it done?

Just for your information my actual dropbox files are on another drive 😧 , I would like to move my AppData folder to drive E:

That's not possible. While you can easily relocate your Dropbox data folder, the application will always install to the C: drive. This cannot be changed.

Would a Symbolic link not work?

It may, but that would be unsupported and may cuase problems. If you have issues with that configuration, Dropbox wouldn't provide support until the symbolic link was removed. The same holds true for symlinks in your data folder.

I won't bother trying that then.
It would be great if Dropbox would consider adding an option on the Windows desktop app to make this possible.
