My entire dropbox set of folders was renamed after I joined a Team folder.

My entire dropbox set of folders was renamed after I joined a Team folder.

After I joined a Team folder named "Jim", my entire dropbox was titled "Jim". I read on a post from 2019 that this is a quirk with androids, but I'm on a PC. The main issue is that I want to make sure that the team leader Jim cannot view all my files! How can I change the name for this group of folders (in which resides the Team folder)?

If you've joined someone else's Business team using your own account, the rename is not a quirk. It's intended and cannot be changed. Also, while the team admin cannot see your files in their own folder structure, they would have the ability to sign in as any team member, which would provide access to the files.

Essentially, by joining a Business team, you're merging your account into the team account, effectively transferring ownership of your account over to the business. "Your" account no longer exists, and is now a part of the Business account. If this wasn't your intention, the team admin will need to convert your account back to an individual account. It's very important that they don't simply remove you from the team, as doing so would delete your account. If this happens, the team admin only has seven days to restore the account.
